The only way to truly save these genes is through cloning (regular reproduction mixes genes from several plants). Nevertheless, page efforts to keep the species strong must also include planting of saplings from known and hardy progeny. This little survivor on Northwestern Avenue was planted by school children from St. Georges’ last fall (on National Tree day), sildenafil and has come through the winter intact. The old bur oak on Workman Avenue (above) is heavily stressed by recent construction, but could be saved by cloning.
