Tree reps from Kitchissippi Ward will be on hand at tonight’s community budget meeting for 3 urban core wards.
As always, when it comes to money, there seems to be too little of it, and many ideas about how to spend it. Our goal at tonight’s meeting is to bring tree protection into the picture. If the city is committed to mitigating climate change, ensuring quality of life in urban neighbourhoods, and enforcing its own by-laws, tree protection has to figure into the budget.
Thank you to the 3 city councillors who are convening this gathering. It’s time that those living in the city’s core have a chance to speak out about what matters to us.
